The Mitac mio A201 is not listed on the compatability list. I have Mio map V3 installed. Can I update my Speed camera data?

If your version of MioMap is 3.2 then you need the MioMap CE on the first drop down and then choose the top choice in the next drop down (The .MTC version)

yes I have 3.2. Following your advice I now require to copy a file called mut.dll, from the mio map updater folder in program files. I am now lost.
Where is the mio map updater folder. Where can I find a simple explanation of the process. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Have you got a copy of MUT.DLL anywhere on your computer? You should have a copy on the original MioMap CD on which the updater is located.

Havn't seen one anywhere Confused
The speedcam *.mtc file goes into the MioMap\miotc\pois folder.

I did get 3 disks originally with the a201 as part of the rev 2 package. I have one , the other two I have misslaid. There is no sign of mut.dll on that disk or on my current pc. Both my desktop and laptop failed within the last year. I will find the two missing disks and if they contain the folder that should solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

I would have thought you might have learned about backups after the first one failed Very Happy Sad

I've just googled for your A210 and it looks like it is possibly an upgrade from the 168 that I have.
A few questions.
1. Is MioMap actually working on your 210 (less speedcams)?
2. Is Your copy of MioMap on the device or on an SD Card?
3. Can you explore to the file structure of MioMap from your computer or from the device itself?
4. Can you tell us at what stage of what, you get the MUT.DLL error. What are you doing/trying to do at the time it pops up.
5. Have you put the .mtc file in the folder that I suggested in my PM?
6. If the answer to 5 is yes, then I don't think that you need mut.dll at all. It seems that the install instructions for the 210 are a copy of those that were written for Mio PNAs that are not normally accessible through the 'normal' USB connection unlike the PDAs that are accessible through Explorer or through Active Sync.

Answer the above and I'm sure that we can crack the problem given a bit of time.

1/miomap works fine including cameras. Updating was the problem
2/ 3.2 supplied on 1gB card. I can't upgrade to 2gB.
3/ from either
4/Trying to run the transfer hack without mut.dll
5/I can but it would replace a much larger pre existing file
6/I think you are right, .mtc goes in easily. I will store the two files in POIS.

My only remaining concern is "does the 2.46mB contain european cameras?".

Thanks for your great help.

I'm sure that it's locked to the SD Card. You can take a backup of it so that you can re-install if it breaks, but it will only run on the original card.

Presumably you have found that you Don't need Mio Transfer hack with your device?

Presumably the 2Mb file was the original, which, I think, does contain EUR cams. The PGPSW UK database does not include these.
I ussume that you are up and running now?
