Rolling Eyes
tomtom gps cable for e-115 cassiopeia pda.
sold as tomtom spare a couple of years ago...but now vanished from this earth.
does anyone know a supplier which might actually have one.
failing this,i quite fancy risking everything by making my own.
could i use the docking cradle which has the serial connector attached.
any info on pin outs much appreciated .
thanks in advance

Yes, you could abuse the docking cradle. You only need four pins

- Vcc (mostly red)
- Gnd (mostly black)
- TxD (green or yellow)
- RxD (white or brown)

If it doesn't play, try swapping RxD and TxD.

Thumbs Up
thanks for the info...but,
the 9 pin d serial connector has wh/grn/br/ylw + others connected.
deciding which 2 of these will be suitable as rcv/tx to gps rcv is a problem.

also the tomtom rcv-does it need 12v or a lesser voltage?

quick re-cap (more for my benefit than anyone else's)
using docking cradle connected to the pda-this cable terminates in serial d conn
i make jumper lead with 9 pin male d conn to rj45 skt to fit tomtom gps rcv.
(connecting external dc source for gps rcv if not available at serial conn.)
ttnav 3 works perfect and i never get lost again!!

what do u think?

The receiver needs 5V, so you can get that directly from the serial connector (Vcc). You could use your approach - I have done something similiar with my iPAQ here : http://pocketgpsworld.com/lutzincar.php
