|
|
I am using Ash's camera manager to upload the camera data base to my Kenwood DNX9240BT unit.
I'm not sure it's working?
I am getting camera warnings, a small visual comes up saying for example: "Gatso 112233" and I get the "bongs".
I thought I would get a bigger visual alert one of the camera symbols for instance.
I have also uploaded the voice alerts, tried both .mp3 and .wav and I don't get them either.
Any ideas?
Thanks |

Can you explain the first problem in more detail? Do you mean you don't get an icon on the screen at all?
Ash10 CM doesn't make the icon or alert any bigger you get exactly what you describe - a small icon on the map with bongs as alerts.
To use the voice files you must download the Ash10 CM voice packs. Then CM must be set to use the setting that produces the data files (GPX) that have names that exactly match the voice files you downloaded. If each GPX file doesn't have a matching mp3 file you'll get no voice alerts.
What option have you selected under Settings - Sort By and what voice file are you using?
Are they are being added to the upload directory of on your PC and you're using POILoader to add the mp3s and gpx files to the POI.GPI file you copy to the unit? |

G'day paulb2005,
From what you have said the visual warnings are appearing correctly.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I am using the voice files downloaded from this site, Voice Alerts (garmin format).
I have the setting set for "Sort by camera type and speed limit"
I downloaded the voice file Garmin_Andy_Speedzoned .mp3
I then converted them to .wav, because I was told Kenwood cannot use .Mp3.
Then I put the files into the Garmin/poi folder which I point both the Camera Manager and POI loader at.
As an example When I look at that folder it has these files in it:
PocketGPS_uk_gatso_30 which is a .GPX
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30 which is a .WAV
Plus Bitmap images.
What am I doing wrong?
The thing is my Kenwood book says it will play .Mp3. |

I have the 7240bt so very similar to yours
I have the files listed as yours
PocketGPS_SC_Gatso_Fifty.bmp
PocketGPS_SC_Gatso_Fifty.gpx
PocketGPS_SC_Gatso_Fifty.wav
The GPX is created with registered version of Ash's CM.
I then run poiloader, ensure its set to miles not km, direct it to the new save location and off it goes.
I then burn to cd the following garmin\poi\Poi.qpi
After loading into the head unit, I get all of the warning images, audio notifications.
I am not sure, but if you did a copy and paste of your filenames, it maybe "case" sensitive so ensure they are all 100% the same format. |
