I have a Go 730 but I am having trouble with it and |I am considering buying another TT.
What are the major differences between the GO 730 and the XL?
I have looked for and search for a comparison webpage but I have not been successful. _________________ David

Courtesy of Mike Alder from a previous topic HERE.....
(the x30 models have the same features as the x20 models)
Quote: | I will try and list what extras you will get with the 520 over and above the XL:
Handsfree for mobile phone
Bluetooth data via mobile phone
iPOD Connection
Audio Line out socket
FM Transmitter built in
Bluetooth HiFi Audio output
mp3 player
SD card slot
Voice recognition (use voice commands)
Text To Speech (it can read road names out)
Compatible with Bluetooth remote control
Itinerary Planning **
Full custom POI menu **
IQ Routes**
Reality View**
Lane Assist**
(** These features ARE in the latest XL models - A.P.)
If you move up the product range to the 720 you get all of the above but it has more built in memory and is supplied with Maps of Western & Central Europe.
The 920 has even more memory and is supplied with Maps of Western & Central Europe plus North America. It is also fitted with a system known as EPT which is for dead reckoning position whilst devoid of a GPS signal such as when in tunnels, and is supplied with the remote control in the box.
Move to the x30 range and there is no real difference between them and the x20, a few colour changes to the menu, but not much else that is noticeable.

Hope that helps! |

Thanks Andy_P for that comprehensive reply - I am very grateful.
I see that you got it from another thread. I tried searching but I did not find this info. What phrase did you use in the search box?
After a search i usually end up with loads of mostly irrelevant posts - most appearing to have no connection whatsoever.
There seems to be a knack with searching that I have yet to find. _________________ David

Knack #1 is to click "Search for all terms" when you have several words to search for. Only topics with ALL the words will then show and not just those with one of them.
To find the really useful info, also put "mikealder" in the Search for author box. _________________ Gerry

If you're not already doing so you can reduce the number of matches by selecting "Search for all terms" under the box where you enter the words to search on.
If the answer is likely to be in a specific forum then select it.
At the bottom of the form under "Display results as" select "Posts". Although this will return more results it saves having to read through several pages of a thread to find the relevant post(s).
Edited to add: Oops. Beaten by Gerry! But can I endorse his final comment on searching for mikealder's posts.
