What am I doing wrong?
Reset all at start
GPS fix OK - goto position (LH btm button)
START to record track
Walk 6 miles checking on route, track is showing although current position is not, only get to current position by LH bottom button track is evident
At end of walk trip log shows 5.97 miles - click STOP
return to map - no track - where's it gone? |

I don't fully understand the question but I'm gathering from what you are saying that the after successfully recording the route, you go into the trip log and press stop, then the red breadcrumb has disappeared?
Are resetting the trip data after pressing stop? If so you may be inadvertantly erasing the breadcrumb trail depending on what option you select.
If you are converting the trail to track after pressing stop then check in the routes menu in the SD card folder, is the route there, if it is select it and activiate it.
Finally check what setting you have for inactive routes. I can't remember of the top of my head where it is but in the settings somewhere you can choose how inactive routes are displayed on the map check what you setting is. |

Thanks for the advice.
I think what has happened, having now read the guide more fully, is that because I have not locked the keypad and keep the satmap in my pocket that the joystick has been knocked and I've gone into planning mode. That would explain why the track wasn't displayed.
Next trip I will lock the keyboard after locking onto GPS and starting the track and see how I get on. I also intend to take some photos to do some subsequent linking using satsync.
I guess the more you use it the better you understand it! |

So true, that happens to me all the time, but I don't bother locking the keyboard as I think that is more hassle just press the map view button if it happens. |
