|
|
Hi
Does anyone know how to install the Speed Camera Database onto the TomTom Start. I've tried to copy the .ov2 and .bmp files to the map folder, but they don't display correctly.
They appear as a red square, which is the same as not having a .bmp file for the POI.
It's really frustrating.... |

As I recall that device doesn't have the option for Warn When Near POI so its pretty useless for speed camera database configuration - Check through the menu installed to the device though as I might be wrong - Mike |

Afraid it's a bit of a non-starter on the Start....
The instructions/compatibility table for the camera database (HERE) says this about the Start:
Quote: | Supported?
No
This incredibly basic unit will not show POIs on the map screen while navigating nor is there an option for 'Warn When Near POI' - as such we have marked is as incompatible. The only thing you could do with the database on the 'Start' is navigate to a camera...! |
This is the only TT model which cannot do POI warnings. God knows why TomTom produced such a turkey. |

Is this the ghost of Christmas future? TomTom disabling support for third party POIs and allowing only their own? I dread the prospect. _________________ Dennis

You can add custom ov2 files to a Start. You just can't see them or any poi in driving view! _________________ David |

I wonder if you could use an SDK custom menu. But I have not see the standard menus so cannot comment on what you may loose if the custom menu would work on the Start. |
