Hi guys,
Not sure if this has been discussed already, did a search and got a ton of possibles.
I am sure you used to be able to enter a post code and not have to enter a building number, you had the option of choosing "anywhere" instead.
In my travels I have a lot of new companies that are just office/house names or industrial estates. If you do not have any number then you are left to guess what the number might be and pray you end up somewhere near, whereas the post code is usually close enough to make no odds.
Is this another TomTom update, (tongue in cheek btw) or has it been moved or changed?

If you enter "post code" (without the quotes), select "Search for all terms" and "TomTom Portable Navigation Devices" forum, a post in this thread appears on the first page. This should answer your question. _________________ Anita

No wrist slap intended, Dave, and I apologise if that's what I implied!
I was just trying to explain to you how to get fewer, more relevant matches, as it isn't obvious on the search form itself. Unfortunately, this is beyond the control of PGPSW.
The search criteria I entered returned 473 matches, as opposed to the 200,000 you quoted, which is enough to put anyone off. _________________ Anita

This postcode farce IS an "update" from TomTom - My question answered...
Quote: | Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Care
The reference number for your query is 091031-228874.
My technical team have confirmed that there has been a change to the software so when navigating to a postcode using the latest software application, you will need to select a house number.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change this at the moment with the current software available for your device however they have noted your feedback and will pass it on to the relevant software developers.
With Kind Regards
Ash

It's ridiculous and the other day navigated me to somewhere more than a mile away and a different street to the one I wanted (a sort of "Station Road, London", rather than "Station Road, Liverpool" type result).
Until they fix this (it is alleged that you can in a later Navcore which hasn't yet been released for the 520 or the XL IQ) the only solution I have is to revert to Navcore 8.302 on my 520 - have you a backup you can use to get that Navcore back again? the newest map (840) works with it on my 520 and so I'm sticking with Navcore 8.302 until it's fixed.
dhn - both Anita and my avatars are accurate depictions, it's just a matter of zoom levels. _________________ Dennis
