Last night downloaded and installed new map on my One. In HOME it is shown as being on the device, but when I switch it on, it just says 'No Map'.
Suggestions ? _________________ Gee-Pee

Try running the clear flash tool three times then see what happens, also make sure the Western_and_Central_Europe-106.meta.dct file is your Western & Central Europe folder - Mike |

Hi Mike, Yes, checked the two meta files and both are there - will also check to see if I have installed the correct two - have others on my computer
I also deleted 18 unwanted cspeech files after installation - will check that I have not inadvertently deleted anything else - don't think so, but they are all still in my recycle bin.
What does the flash tool actually do? Not clear on TT's web site.
Oh! and PS. What, if anything, are these three files?

The clear flash tool is used to wipe a small area of memory that isn't available via Windows, there is a half decent explanation as to what it does on the download page Here
As for those three files they look like garbage to me so copy them to the PC then delete them off the device - Mike |

Wish I could - have tried before but all I get is " Cannot Delete (copy) File: Cannot read from source file or disc."
Update after using flash and re- installing meta file - No change. Think I will have to use the BackUp / reinstall old Map and go back and start all over again.
I could do with the time wasted. - Graham _________________ Gee-Pee

Perform a full format of the device and don't use the Quick Format checkbox option as thats not likely to fix the issue, with everthing off the device just re-install the files/ folders without the old map, then copy the new map to the device - Mike |

Sounds easy! Done that today but it sertainly was not easy. Have got the device working and latest application and map have been installed. After finishing, HOME gave me the option to download the emulator so I can now use the device through HOME. That works perfectly and everything is shown on the screens as it should be. However, that is not the case with the device. I am attaching a couple of examples ....the normal map screen is OK apart from a white rectangle in the centre. Navigating through the other screens seems just to add one on another until it is totally unreadable.;
This has been so time consuming, because I have redownloaded the Map file from TT, then extracted the files to the folder on the device - takes about 2 to 3 hours a time.
Now I am stumped with the display. Does that mean another go at removing and reinstalling
One thing that MAY be pertinent is that in HOME, under the 'Manage your Device' screen, under the list of items installed on the device are TWO Start Up Image files and TWO 'Suspend Screen' files. Is that right? _________________ Gee-Pee

Your advice invaluable. Have resurrected device by simply installing my very first BackUp of Feb this year. Latest map working OK, but now have to go through the trauma of installing latest Navcore again. Fingers crossed.
Not sure if you got my last PM with link to Blog as it is still sitting in my Outbox.
