hi, just wanted to know if it is safe to tick all the options for map share updates?
are all corrections verified by tomtom? |

| I use them all apart from the last one, 'Some Users'. Never so far found anything that's incorrect. |

As you change the option it gives you more details on the screen.
Strict - Only use changed Verfied by TomTom
High - Only use changed Verfied by TomTom and Trusted Sources
Medium - Only use changed Verfied by TomTom, Trusted Sources and Reported by many
Low- Only use changed Verfied by TomTom, Trusted Sources, Reported by many and Reported by some
If TT verfieied them all there would only be one level i.e. "TomTom Verified". Personally i use High with no problems. |

As some of the biggest MapShare mistakes in the past (such as the infamous shutting of the A40 into London) came as "TomTom verified" corrections, I wish the slider worked the other way round!
I have no worries setting it to the "reported by many" level, and often leave it on "reported by some" just for the hell of it! |

What would be good is if TomTom showed unverified or user map share corrections on a route and if they affected the planned route then gave you the option of accepting them or ignoring them.

I would quite like that option as well.
Have mine set to the 'many users' option and have not noticed any faults, but then again I don't recognise if there have been any corrections on the routes I'm using.

My settings for mapshare are Turned Off.
It kept on giving me a very strange route off the A3 to London & took me round Guilford then back on the A3 making the route much longer for no reason. I removed all updates & the problem went only to return when I loaded just the TT strict updates.
So now its off for good. |
