guys, i've got these working on a jailbroken phone. AND unlike winmo and android versions they work using the directional data BUT do not accept custom png's for the icons...
it features the same 'bug' as the android phones whereby it can only handle one file import at a time so you need to keep restarting the app for it to carry on 'integrating' the files! seeing as there are no custom icons i would recomend the single file download as you don;t have to restart the app so many times!
here's what to do:
navigate to:
user / applications / *copilot hex code* / Documents / EU / save / user_places /
then either backup or delete teh 'safetycams' folder - this is ALK's own database
then copy the csv files from the cp8 download to:
user / applications / *copilot hex code* / Documents / EU / save /
and fire up copilot
when it comes to updating simply remove the relevent folders from the user_places folder.

MaFt, unless the've fixed it, the Android version won't take custom .pngs yet |

Custom pngs does work on the Android version, as does directional camera data. There is a mobile site I go past daily and it only warns me from one direction. |

Which camera ID? There might be another explanation for it. |

MOBILE:6853 on the A340 in Sherborne St. John. Heading towards Basingstoke (i.e south) I get an alert, heading in the opposite direction I don't. This would make sense based on the the direction data for the entry (193).
I get the same result with MOBILE:32017 just up the road in Tadley, it triggers leaving Tadley but not entering it. Again this is consistant with the CSV data. |

As an experiment I modified the CSV entry for MOBILE:32017 and removed the direction data. I then replaced the mobile database on the phone. I then drove past the mobile site in both directions and I was now alerted both times.
I think this proves that the latest Android version is indeed capable of using the direction data. |

can you locate a camera icon on teh map and press it to bring up the poi's info screen. next to the name does it show the heading value? i didn't think it did but the iphone version does - hence i assumed it wasn;t directional.
once confirmed i'll get the compatibility table updated to state android also uses the directional data

The direction value is displayed next to the camera icon. |
