|
|
At the risk of sounding naive,I need assistance with this subject.I'm still wworking at improving my IT skills. It sometimes happens that when you download a programme from the internet or install it from a disk, the programme is saved in a file in the main computer, and the install wizard for installing it in the pocket PC does not come up, and you're left wondering how to get it into your pocket PC. In such a situation, what is the process for transferring such programmes from the main computer to the pocket PC? I hope my lay language is understood. |

In general, if the downloaded programme has an .exe extension, you run it from the PC and it will install to the PPC if there is an Activesync connection. If the downloaded file has a .cab extension, you transfer it to the PPC and then run it from there. You can transfer files using copy and paste, then locate the file on the PPC with File Explorer and tap it once. _________________ Tim |

Aha, that's interesting Tim.
I knew that I needed to find a mate with a PC for .exe files but if it has a .cab extension thyen I can just download it and copy to my PPC with my Mac and there should be no problems.
Correct? |

Correct. Just holler if you need any further assistance. There are plenty of 'friendlies' here. :D _________________ Tim |
