My Citroen C4 head unit has a BLUETOOTH option that alows my mobile phone to work through the radio with hands-free on the steering wheel. When I try to pair my GO930 the radio recognises the unit and shows a headset icon in the display. The GO also recognises the car unit and I am putting-in the correct code, but the pairing fails. Anyone with ideas of what may be wrong?

Possibly something to do with a difference in protocols between Bluetooth PHONES and Bluetooth AUDIO DEVICES (which is what the TomTom is).
I had a hire car last summer which refused to recognise the TT too, although my current cheap Sony Head unit does recognise both types.

There's a Bluetooth "fix" for the TomTom described in THIS forum topic, which might be worth trying, I think it makes the TomTom look more like a mobile phone as far as the radio is concerned, but so far I've only used it when the radio failed to "see" the TomTom at all.

Have a read of the car manual for the Stereo, the bits you need to look for are as follows:

HFP Basic Hands Free Protocol, this will only work with the phone
A2DP Stereo Bluetooth Audio which is what the TomTom requires, although there is no guarantee it will work without the Fix in Andy's post as the A2DP implementation is best described as hit and miss - Mike

That fix worked for me when my Sony radio/cd would not see my Go 730T & has worked ever since.

Worth a try but my TT didn't see my Sony at all so perhaps a little different from your problem.

I doubt if the factory fitted stereo supports A2DP - most only support Handsfree/Headset Profiles for use with Mobiles.

I thought that with recent Navcores the BT HifiFix wasn't needed - I seem to remember that all of a sudden (coincedence or what) my 920 would suddenly pair with loads of stereos that it couldn't previously.

That's very possibly my experience too.

Anyone would think that TT were monitoring forums and incorporating other peoples fixes, or maybe it is just pure coincidence Laughing
