I purchased one of these on TomTom.com. It advertises as having a 3 month trial of LIVE services in all LIVE countries. However, it doesnt recognise any services and TomTom say that the SIM is Dutch (hardly surprising since the device came from Appeldoorn. The TomTom Dutch site advises of the same Europe-wide LIVE services.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and managed to solve it? TomTom support had promised to come back to me Friday to explain what the issue was but no response yet.

Thanks

Where did you buy it from?

What country are you in?

European wide LIVE Services is promised by the end of the year and isn't necessarily in effect yet. I wonder if you have an imported device which will probably only work in the country it was bought from until the LIVE services are unlocked across Europe.

Can you check the SIM ID number just the first six digits as this will tell us which country its from (I don't trust TT to get this right)

Tap the sat strength meter (lower right), then the version box followed by the Network button, the device will be displaying lots of numbers, its just the start of the SIM ID number.

The XL Live should work anywhere in Europe where Live services are enabled, so I would expect a Dutch device to certainly work in the UK.

Have you used a unique e-mail address to register this device? its not the same e-mail you have used on a previous device is it? If you have re-used an old e-mail address from a previous device this is known to mess up services and subscriptions - Mike
