|
|
Recently bought a Volvo with the RTI DVD based navigation system in it.
The unit includes a TMC receiver and it's possible to select Classic FM for traffic report reception but it doesn't seem to work.
A call to Volvo UK, suggests I need updated software/map disks, but these would cost about £200!!
Any other Volvo RTI sat/nav users out there ? |

sorry but youll have to buy the discs from volvo as the licence for the map data will prohibit anyone copying them and passing them round
could you only put one post for each subject please ive deleted the one in the other forum as most users use the veiw posts since last visit option _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Alix776, I was interested in feedback from other users to confirm what Volvo UK had told me. If I need to buy the disks I will. If it is possible to get the software working without an update I would like to know about it.
The version installed includes all the menu options for traffic Information and picks up two FM stations for TMC. However I never receive and messages.
The Customer Support person on the Volvo UK phone line, didn't sound too sure about what he was saying.
So, again, anyone have first hand experience of using TMC on the Volvo RTI system ?
p.s. Probably too many new posts accross all the Forums for some of us visitors, to use the "view since last vist" option. Excellent forums by the way. |

Thanks for the feedback.
I managed to persuade Volvo UK and my local Dealer to sort out between them a free upgrade, since the "RTI SatNav" I paid for was actually behaving as "SatNav". The Road Traffic Information (RTI) was not functional. I guess they could have stuck to the official line, but since I had only recently purchased the car, and since it is a very expensive option, I guess they figured I would not give up so easily.
After a couple of days with it in the car (local trips) I have noticed some Traffic Messages. Looks promising. I'll report back on how well it performs in a few months. |

Hi Gurj
I've sent you a couple of pm's but the site doesn't show any in my sent box so not really sure what is going on.
If you have them and want to, pm me back
David. |

Does anyone know if speed cameras can be uploaded to the Volvo GPS system? |
