Are the poi files for the various brands of fuel station provided by the suppliers or by ordinary members of the public?
I have noticed recently that several fuel stations seems to have "changed" supplier and was wondering how to correct this? |

The data can come from a number of copyright-free sources, however the preferred source is by users of the POIs who have actually seen the site of the POI so that the POI is accurate in terms of position, telephone number, category and sub-category, etc.

Please go to the “Submit POI” webpage and use the Google map on that page to locate your fuel station, you have to zoom in enough to do so. When you click on the icon of your fuel station, its details will appear just above the Google map. Make a note of the unique number, in fact you can then click on that number and you’ll be taken to the change page.
In the “Action” change from “Confirm POI” to “Change existing POI”
Change the “Category” and “SubCat.” Drop down boxes to the appropriate value. If the necessary values aren’t already listed then please write what you need in the comments box. Please update any of the other values as necessary and then click on the “Submit Entry” button.
Please repeat for each POI. You will get an automated email reply thanking you. The POI team will then look at your submission and they’ll update the database in due course.

Thanks for that helpful reply.
I hope I've gone through the process correctly and should now deleted the Texaco station which was wrongly located and should have converted the correctly located Esso station to Texaco.
No doubt someone will advise if I've done it wrong!
