Hi, i have searched the forum but cannot find anyone with the same problem so here goes,
I have an n97 and garmin mobile xt,
I have read the installation guides and watched the videos and have followed them to the letter.
I installed the speed camera db from gps world and used the poi loader,
All seems fine with no errors etc, but i have been through about 5 gatsos and nothing is picked up.
I can see a 800kb .poi file on the phone and i have checked all the proximity settings.
I have been working on the issue for a couple of days now and am absolutely stumped. This site definatley says the xt is compatible but i phoned Garmin and they were pretty clueless saying that they didn't think it would work, but i really didn't have much confidence in the guy and he blatantly wanted me off the phone after i had waited to get through for an hour.
If anyone can offer any suggestions I would be eternally grateful
thanks |

Hi
I did actually manage to sort it out,
you need to save the poi to a storage area other than the data card,
I believe the data card is locked down.
You will need to create a folder called garmin on the storage area, then in there a folder called poi,
upload the database via poiloader, into the poi folder,
this should then work fine,
let me know if you still have problems

This does now work having moved the POI's to phone mass storage.
I do find the n97 gps not as reliable as my old 6110. I can be driving down a straight road and then the map will veer to one side forcing a route recalculation then the map it will come back to the center again and recalculate. |
