Does mounting a PDA on the vents have any adverse effects on the PDA

By the nature of their design, they force the vent to remain open and pointing directly at the rear of it.

Living in the UK you either have extremely hot air blowing at the back of it, or sometimes if we are very lucky extremely cold air

Although you can get quite hot air and cold air blowing out, the mount (if it's a cradle design) will just absorb this and it won't affect the PDA.
