Just received a new Haicom 303MMF and want to use it with a HP Jornada 568 using a serial cable. From the CD that came with the 303 MMF it doesn't appear that there are any drivers for the Pocket PC.

The 303MMF has a flashing LED and the GPS Info program that came with it doesn't show any satellite activity. The scan doesn't indicate any particular com port. It just stays on COM 1.

I also tried to find the receiver using CoPilot PC4 and the scan doesn't indicate anything. Hoping someone here has some suggestions on how to get it working.

The HI-303MMF doesn't need any drivers when used with a Pocket PC - either in CompactFlash or serial mode.

In serial mode, you simply connect the "mini-1394" to "PS-2" cable, then connect your Haicom PDA cable (which must be the one sold for use with a Jornada - assuming such a cable exists; if not, it's down to you to rewire a Haicom cable or make your own) to the "PS-2" connector. You must apply power to the cigarette lighter plug; if you don't, the GPS hardware has no power.

If you have any keyboard drivers installed, disable them - plug in keyboards use the serial port. Your GPS should then be on the serial port (almost certainly COM1:) - NMEA mode, 4800 bps.
