WHAT has happened to the voice-set on Navigator 3??!!! i've installed "UK Eng, "Jane"" and it sounds like she's saying the instructions with a clothes-peg on her nose! furthermore, some roundabout instructions sound like she's been at the Gin and is absolutely smashed!
i tried uninstalling that set, and leaving my previous Navigator 2 added-in voice set, which didn't get wiped by the upgrade, but TTN3 won't see/use these (which i guess makes sense).
although i don't speak any other language, i'm tempted to replace "clothes-peg Jane" with Spanish or Italian; i'm sure i'll catch on quick, and it'd be a nicer experience!!
Anyone else concur? |

I was taken aback when she first spoke 8O She is a bit too POSH for this southerner too.
Pity that the old files don't work.

The old files do work.
I am using TT2 Doris with TT3. What I did was to overwrite the .wav files from a TT2 backup. |

I can't get used to the new woman either..reminds me of a Lloyd Grossman on helium. I put the bloke on instead and I'm not sure I like him either, His voice doesn't cut through enough.
If someone has time / webspace could they put up a zip of the voice files from ttn2?
thanks

TalkingBollox,
did you simply do a "drag & drop" job on the old/new files?
might have to go a-searchin though previous back-ups if that's the case - unless as NeilF has suggested, someone can post up a zipfile with them..... |

I'm not keen on the new woman either and prefer TTN2. My other half said something like "at least she's better than that other old slapper". I think she must have been jealous of TomTom Jane v2. 8O |

I hate the new female voice in TTN3.
It's too quiet and she sounds she's been on the at local wine bar. 8O
The old TTN2 female voice was much better and louder.
The TTN3 American voice is better, but she talks about rotarys instead of roundabouts.
TomTom have messed up this new version completely, and the only real improvement is the maps. |

There are replacement voice files on Tomtom's website. I use the male voice as it's a bit less irritating. |
