Hi

I've got a TT 720 that I want to use for basic navigation with V8 maps and PGPSW speed cams. I'm not interested in any of the bells & whistles. i.e. I don't want bluetooth, MP3s, 'live' etc. Would one of you good people please tell me which is the best Navcore to use for reliable and stable use for the above purpose. I suspect it might be one of the earlier v8 Navcores, in which case I'd appreciate an idea as to where I could download the file.

Regards - Andy

I would suggest 8,010 depending upon which map version you have installed, this was the last version we had before all the fun and games started - Mike

Thanks Mike. Smile

The map I have currently is Western Europe 815.2003, would 8.010 be OK with that?

Why not let TomTom Home update it to the current/correct version 8.351?

Hi franb
You said Why not let Home update to the latest Navcore2. Well v8.302 was great. Then Tomtom came out with 8.350 and trouble started. Volume greatly reduced. So then Tomtom came out with 8.351 and although the volume was a little better it is still useless in a Ford Transit when driving fast. So, I stick to v8.302 and everything is brilliant.

Yes im sticking to 8302,I cant notice any difference in the volume in 8351,The volume in 8302 is how it should be nice and loud and if its to loud then i can turn it down,But now ive just bought a SD card i do have 8351 on the internal memory,But i dont use it.

And for some, 8.302 is no good as they still have stuttering issues.

I would stick with 8.010 - I think it will work with your maps. No harm in trying! You can get it from OldBoys website here

8.351 works fine for me. Volume hasn't been an issue since unticking the "Link volume to noise level" option.
