I've just bought a Zumo 660 and I want to set it so that I get the speed camera alerts (bongs are OK, but I'd prefer voice warnings) but I DON'T want to get voice navigation instructions.
Its easy to do that on my TomTom 940 (by using a silent voice, and then using TTS for the alerts ) but I can't figure out how to do the same on the Garmin.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

don't navigate? then you won't be given any instructions?
on the garmin's you get speed cam alerts regardless of whether you are navigating or not! so the 'warn only when on route' issue doesn't exists and hence no need for a 'silent' voice.

Dunno if it applies to your unit.
But on my 255wt I like to follow the route on the screen, but with the voice instructions switched off.
So I've used Ash10's Voice Utility to replace most of the speech by a short silence, in the US voices. (The UK voices I left alone). So by switching voices, I can turn the route instructions on or off.
I've also installed the camera voice warnings, mostly from Ash10.

Thanks Dales - thats exactly what I want - no voice nav instructions, but to just see them on screen.
Where do I find the instructions on how to load ASH10 voice for Garmin?
Thanks for the quick responses

Sorry for slow response - I've been on hols.
Details of the Ash10 Voice Utility and the Ash10 Camera Manager are in the stickies at the top of this page. (Be prepared to work through plenty of the posts, to get a good feel for the topic).
