The free HD Traffic subscription for my 740 unit is about to expire, however before I consider renewing I was wondering about the GPRS service. I know you can get the RMD-TC cable attachment for the unit, but from what I read on the forum reception via this means is variable at best. When I used Navigator 6 on a PDA I connected to the GPRS service via the bluetooth mobile and that worked quite well. Given that TT units can also connect to your mobile, can you use this to get the traffic service via the mobile GPRS?

With an x40 device you have a few options:
a/ Subscription to the HD Live service
b/ RDS-TMC using the accessory mount with the RDS receiver built in
c/ RDS-TMC using the Mini-USB equipped receiver plugs straight in to the existing supplied mount.
d/ RDS-TMC using the round plug style receiver coupled to the accessory mount with the extra connections for Line Out and iPOD/ RDS.
Connection to a phone for the GPRS service is not an option the device supports AFAIK - Mike |

Correct, not an option to x40 users. _________________ Darren Griffin |
