|

The speed cams database I update weekly and d/load into my "Western Europe" TT file, but I have some other POI's in a POI folder.
What's the point of this separate folder ie can they not all just be dumped in map folder _________________ Gel

If you dl pois from TT using Home, they do go into a poi folder, I believe. Clearly, having them there won't allow their showing up on the map.
I think they get dl in a zipped format. Unzip them and put the resultant .ov2 (and .bmp file, if available) directly into the specific map folder where they belong. _________________ David |

If you have none left in there, yes..........
Make sure they are showing properly on the map first. _________________ David |

I was discussing this in another topic yesterday (I'll find it in a minute!).
Home seems to leave a .tlv file for each POI behind in the "poi" folder, so that might be needed by Home to keep track of things? |

That's interesting because I've dl custom ov2 files from other sites than TomTom and had no .tlv file; yet, the ov2 and bmp files worked as advertised on the unit.
I have not dl poi files from TT using Home. Do you suspect that if a user does and wipes out the .tlv file, that using the emulator, the ov2 file will not show on the map???? _________________ David |

No idea... I don't usually download POIs from Home so don't have much experience with the"poi" folder.
All I can say is that on my 940, all the TomTom-supplied speed camera POI files are in the main map folders but there are sixteen .tlv files in the "poi" folder too:
Autovelox_IT_TomTom.tlv
Blitzer_AT_TomTom.tlv
etc....
down to:
Safety_Cam_UK_Premium.tlv
EDIT: including the "FuelStationsEU.tlv" for the LIVE service petrol prices too.
Also, I've looked back at a few backups and on a 720 I had .tlv files "Agrial.tlv" and "Logisdefrance.tlv" as well so it isn't just "official" or paid-for stuff. |
