When I bought mine 11mths ago sure Amazon site said guarantee was 1 year.
Have seen several posts here talking of 2 years cover; which is valid?

1 year according to TT Website. Where did you see 2 years and are you sure they are not talking about 2 year map updates? |

The warranty period will depend upon the device, I think the last hardware to offer the two year warranty was the x10 range, everything since then has been down to a 12 month warranty - I doubt there will be many x10 devices still covered by the two year warranty by now though due to the products age.
If you want to check the warranty duration for your own device go to the Licences folder on the device and open the applicable warranty text file, it should be something like "LW-1y-English 2007_NO US CAN" - Mike |

The 720 is a 12 month warranty, the only two units I have with two year warranty cover is the 910 (out of date and burnt out) and the Original One XL - Mike |

That link comes from a page that states
Quote: | TomTom GO 510
TomTom GO 710
TomTom GO 715
TomTom GO 910
TomTom ONE
TomTom ONE New Edition
TomTom RIDER
Accessories that explicitly refer to www.tomtom.com/legal on its packaging and purchased by you prior to 1 April 2007 |
As you'd mentioned you bought your unit 11 months ago i didn't mention this however Mike has given a more complete answer above. |
