Hi,

I have had my Go940 for a couple of months (big mistake as the new range is about to be launched) and I have had a recurring problem with it.

I set the destination and start travelling, all seems to appear to be working (inc. HD traffic) then when I look at the screen it has completely locked up!
No amount of screen tapping will get the unit working again and the only option is to power the unit down and back on again.

This happened to me on three occasions on a trip to Plymouth and again yesterday it happened twice on my way to and from Bradford.

Is anyone else having similar problems?

Brian

I have a 930 but have not had a lock-up like you describe. If I were you I would try the "pin into the reset hole trick" to try and clear the cache.
You haven't got too many "display POI" selected have you? I only ask as I have heard that this can considerably slow the processor down but not sure if this would cause a lock-up.

There is no reset hole on a 940 you need to press and hold the power on/ off button down to reset it.
There has been a long known issue with the x40 devices that the navigation screen freezes, usually tapping the screen and returning back from the nav menu re-starts the display moving again - Mike

Hi

I had my 540 lock up while navigating, it had just given a turn instruction and then the screen froze. It must have some form of watchdog timer as after about 10 seconds while I was thinking do I stop and reset it, it rebooted itself and then carried on with the route and has been fine since.
