|
|
I have downloaded the zip file of POI's from here and tried to open it with WinZip on Windows and stuffit on mac.
WinZip says "Cannot open file; it does not appear to be a valid archive"
Stuffit just creates a duplicate zip folder.
What am I doing wrong? I have done this in the past but I can't remember how I did it.
Help please. |

Have you tried a new download? Sometimes they can get corrupted for some reason or other. |

Have you tried Ticking the Show Link Option?
How many Categories and how many SubCategories in each are you downloading?
Is it OV2 or CSV file types? _________________ Richard

Yes, I tried the show link option.
One categories with two sub categories.
CSV file types. |

On another note...
I have just bought a Garmin Nuvi 1340 and I have read about people having problems when installing too many POI's.
What is the maximum amount of POI's I could install without encountering any problems?
Many thanks. |

Not a lot more to say, I'm afraid....
All I can suggest is trying the download itself (rather then just the unzipping)on another computer if you haven't tried that already.
I just tried test downloads of
1. just the Bed and Breakfasts in the "Accomodation" section,
2. the entire Accommodation Section - Separated and
3. the entire Accommodation Section - Combined into one file
....all with or with out using the "Show link" button.
They all downloaded and unzipped fine, with a simple right mouse click and selecting "Extract all". |

Yeah, I've tried it on a macbook and a windows laptop.
WinZip gave the error I stated in the first post and stuffit on the mac just creates a seconed zip file.
Got a friend coming round later with his laptop to give it a go for me as this site wouldn't work earlier on another friends windows millennium desktop.
I'm going away to Belgium and Holland on the 31st and a few POI's for different things would be of great help. |
