Hello one and all on this very helpful site. I am a new user and I am not even sure if I have posted in the correct forum! (Apologies if this is the case and any advice, to where it should be posted will be welcome)
If I am correct in posting here, please could anyone inform me which is the better performer, of Navigator 8 and Smart2go : for directions/routes etc. I have been using both and now have to make a decision, regarding the one to keep. The problem is that I have only used them for a minimal period and although the Smart2go seems to have a better menu/interface etc, I have warmed to the Navigator 8. I do have one reservation about Nav 8 though; this relates to information relating to roads/streets, whilst on the move. It does not seem to provide as much detail as Smart2go - although this may be my fault, as I am not very Sat Nav illiterate! The menu also seems easier to use on Smart2go, although Navigator 8 has performed well, when directing me to destinations. (I must add though that I have had knowledge of the routes when testing the devices.) Any help would be appreciated, as I have to make a decision soon, due to it being work related. Thanks, Carich.[/b] |

I don't think many people have access to Navigator 8 (it's not been released generally, only pre-loaded on a small number of phones as far as I know) so getting comparisons may be tricky.
I don't know anything about Smart2Go, but I've heard good reports here.
A "search" of the forums for "Smart2Go" brings up 69 matches, which may be worth a read. |

Welcome to the forum, who makes the Navigator 8 application you are using and what device are you using. Any software that downloads the maps on the fly can prove costly in terms of data tarrif (such as Smart2go).
TomTom only have Navigator 7 available pre-loaded to certain PDA phones, but there are quite a few other navigation software packages for the PDA/ SmartPhone devices - Mike |
