|
|
Hi
I asked an ebay seller what version the TMC Receiver is that he is selling here is what I got in response:
Art no: 9V00.017
Part no: 5V00.108.3
Is this the most recent version?
Thanks in advance |

That's a new one on me!
The current mini-USB model (the latest that I am aware of ) is 4V00.014
The previous model that connected via the jack socket was 4V00.013
I've no heard of a 9V00.017 model, not saying it's not legit, just that I have no knowledge of it! _________________ Darren Griffin |

The tag on the lead of mine says 4V00.014, but the box says
Art. no: 9V00.101
Part no: 5V00.112.2
Edited to remove an extra '0' that crept in! _________________ Anita

I took the tab off my mini USB one, but the box says almost the same. Quote: | Art. no: 9V00.101
Part. no: 5V00.112 |
But it also says it's compatible with Quote: | TomTom ONE 30 series
TomTom XL 30 series | But it seems to work fine with my Go 720 _________________ TT Go Essential |

The Rider isn't included in the compatability list on the box, which comprises:
GO x30 series
GO x20 series
ONE XL
XL 30 series
ONE 3rd Edition
ONE 30 series _________________ Anita

Mine has identical identity to Anita's. Bought this week from this ebayer. £19.99 + £3.99 postage
Took it out of the box, plugged it in, worked straight away even before I had uncoiled it. Left it still coiled up on dashboard of car and it still worked. Not yet used it in long route situation though. |

I have the same. Disputing it with eBay and the seller now. I noticed the packaging had been carefully opened and resealed so I'm thinking it's a scam. |

As a Xmas present I've just bought a TMC receiver however it's not clear if it's the latest version.
The box states:
9V00.017
5V00.108.3
I haven't opened the box however it is the 3.5mm jack version and says it's compatible with One (3rd Edition) which is the correct machine.
Is there a later version?
What about the one with the mini usb connection. Will that work with a One 3rd Edition.
It's all very confusing?!! |

What about the one with the mini usb connection. Will that work with a One 3rd Edition. | The RDS-TMC receiver fitted with the mini USB will work fine with the One Third Edition, but it needs power all the time to avoid dropping the data - this can be annoying when you stop the car for fuel etc. The RDS-TMC receiver you have with the 6 pole round connector will remain working when power is removed from the device - a better solution (this assumes you don't switch off the TomTom).
The Mini USB equipped receiver is really intended for devices such as the newer XL unit which only has the mini USB socket on the device, although it does work with other units - Mike |

It's worth remembering that the "part number" on the box is the part number of the box itself - not the item contained within it. _________________ Gerry

The 3rd edition has only one usb connector. Therefore I presume it's receiver or power, not both. In which case the version with the pole connector seems the one to have. Still not convinced I have the latest version of the receiver with the pole connector. May well just have to chance it! |

Can you see the device through the package? If so is there a little paper flag on the end of the cable? If the number on the paper flag ends in .013 it will be the latest version as far as I am aware.
The USB type TMC receiver would connect to the same socket on your tomtom as the power supply. When the TMC is in use you plug it into the tomtom and plug the car charger into the TMC receiver. _________________ Paul |
