How about staying on the A43 and let TT reroute itself from there.

What map and software versions?
I just tried it on a 940 with v815 mapping and it comes off the A43 at Kettering, but turns straight onto the A14 Kettering Road and stays on that going west until it turns onto the A508 Harborough Road going south to Northampton. No little roads at all.
However, if I try to force it to stay on the A43 by adding a single waypoint on the A43 just past where it turns off, I can see there is something stopping it using it.
Adding a couple more waypoints on the road and it appears to be a small stretch at N52.36216 W0.78770 which it doesn't like and it detours round a loop to the east through Broughton.
I'm just trying an A-B route along that small stretch of road (quicker to set up) to try to work out what it doesn't like.
EDIT - Doh! Spent too long playing, I see you've found that already...
Yes, the error is where (if you tap the road to highlight it) the two green lines converge just to the south of the roundabout. |

Hopefully the brains at TT will investigate and resolve for future release .... at least we can live in hope. |
Only if you provide exact details to them to reproduce it! They won't spot it here. |

Surprising as it may be I have had PMs from TomTom after posting issues on this site, so they do look at it.
However do report it as an issue. _________________ Drivelux |

Try shortest routes too when looking at the error.
On fastest (IQ) routes, I cant travel East along the West Approach Rd in Edinburgh. On shortest routes, I can......
I've reported to TOmtom and await their reply |
