Had a phantom road closure (A39 near Saltash) today. Got extremely fed up with the prompt to accept a diversion every 3 minutes - is there a way of stopping these repeated messages? All I can see is an option to turn off voice traffic info completely.
I think I understand how the traffic info gets onto the system, but, what happens if a couple of TT or Vodafone users just happen to stop for a break on the same stretch of road? Does HD traffic see this as a delay?
Also, if all TT Live users take the advice to avoid a stretch of road, how is HD traffic going to know that the delay has cleared? |

People stopping is easy, as you will in the first instance "eliminate outliers" which means that the slowest and fastest are removed before you look at the trend of the rest. |

That's a very interesting question, almost philosophical since if it's a problem then HD live is working very well. _________________ Tony

The input from the location of vodaphone users (inc TT Live) is only one part of the data, there are also the usual data sources such as the Highways Agency. _________________ Drivelux |

Yes I suppose thinking about this that with the best will in the world I bet only half at most TT Live users will accept the divert, but also there are all the other Vodaphone users on that same stretch of road without TT. _________________ Tony
