Changes between releases for zoned complete

I sometimes notice that there are not the same number of types of cameras per release. For example in the release I downloaded today there was one less camera type than the last, it was pmobile_var that is missing.

Is this as there are no possible mobile cameras in a variable speed limit on the latest database or they were overlooked? I must admit I have never seen a mobile speed camera in a variable speed limit and would have thought it would be tricky to prove the speed and the limit in force at that precise moment unless the two systems were linked.

The main mobile.var category was removed for exactly the reason you give - they don't use mobile cameras in variable speed limit zones in the UK.
But I think a PMOBILE category gets generated automatically, if an unverified report of one slips through the net. Once these have been properly investigated, they are then re-classified into the correct category.

Remember the pMobiles have not been subjected to the same confirmation and verification process as the other categories.

For info, in parts of Europe and especially Australia they use variable speed zones around eg schools at times when children are arriving or leaving, and there ARE some mobiles in those places.
