Hi Mr Freeze/ anyone else?
Given all that has been written about OS 8.3 I'm a bit wary. Is it possible to upgrade to 8.1 or 8.2 something, (below 8.3) to avoid the possible stuttering/slow refreshes and still get the map upgrade?
How would I get the lower version of OS? What version would people recommend and still keep maximum benefits of 720.
If I upgrade OS later, when it is hopefully fixed, presumably I'll still have the latest map?
Regards
Colin

If you have a new device and want to update the unit using the LMG:
First of all back up the device.
Update the software to version 8,300
Use the LMG for the latest map
Backup the unit a second time
Customise the device with POI/ camera warnings etc
============================================
If you don't have the LMG to use and are looking at a software update/ map purchase:
First of all lets look at what you have on your device:
Tap the sat strength meter (lower right corner) followed by the version box, the next page will display the software version number and the current map version.
look at the map if its a version 800, 805 or 810 then you should be running Navcore 8,010 software to make full use of what the map data contains.
If your map is v815 (the latest at the time of writing this) then you need to be using Navcore 8,300 software to make use of the additional data within the map files.
If your map is version 7xx then I would leave the unit running Navcore 7,221 as there is no point un updating the software unless you put a newer map on it. - Mike
