|
|
Hi
A few weeks ago I added two new speed cameras and a removed camera to the database. These changes apeared in last weeks database but have gone from this weeks. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? It could be that the two new cameras (temporary GATSOs at roadworks) may have been removed, but the third camera has still not been replaced so should still be on the database as removed. |

Giving the camera ID numbers would help a lot! |

If you can supply the Camera ID's or locations and types we can take a look? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Is it the change from Temp to TGatso, by any chance? Temporary cameras are now included in the main fixed camera data files. _________________ Dennis

The camera changes are still shown on the Google map on the add camera page. The two cameras that were added ar numbered GATSO653@60 and GATSO23109@60. The camera that has been removed from its site is GATSO50035@30.
Last weeks TomTom download had the cameras in it, this weeks does not. |

All three appear in my Garmin download from last week.
Also just downloaded last weeks OV2 (TomTom) database and checked it - all 3 cameras appear there too. |

All three are still on my TomTom (latest download - Version 6.113
--- 12 November 2008)
GATSO:653@60 and GATSO23109@60 are both on the A30 at Roseworthy.
GATSO50035@30 is on the A361 north of Othery. It is still in the database, but has a remove request (presumably yours) pending verification. |

GATSO 50035 in Othery seems to have become a bit of a favourite recently with those who encourage it to malfunction or fall over and it always comes back. A couple of years ago I used to travel that route both directions twice a day seven days a week, but no longer. It's a bit out of the way so I'm not sure when I'll next get there. Last time it was "removed", it came back again before long (reinstated March this year - the comments at the time were "Although I told you this camera had been dismantled, it is now operational again") and it was a bad idea to remove it from the database. So if it is to be removed from the db, I/we'll need to stop and look to see what's happened to all the electrics etc. So easy to reinstate and it's a very good trapping location, not far inside the speed limit and at the end of a good long run.
Edit to add It's the only camera in the whole world which has ever flashed me - at 3:30am, without film. _________________ Dennis

Yeah DennisN, you are very right about the camera coming and going, I do this route every week to get my Grandson so I thought that it would be accurate to tell the Db about its temp removal. In hind site that was stupid of me as it will be back in a few months. If there is any sigh of the electrics being removed I will tell you, otherwise I will ignore future temporary removals.
Andy_P, how odd, they are defiantly NOT on my OV2 downloaded on the 13th (ah! Maybe that’s a clue!) I will do a clean install later today and see how that goes.
Thanks everyone for your input. |

I reloaded the TT cam file last night and WOW, there are the cams. I think that maybe my prob was not with the database but with my system.
Again thanks everyone. |

For information, I was able to visit today and found the electrics still there and covered by a traffic cone, which to me means for sure "they" will bring it back. So I think you'll agree with me advising our database administrator not to action the removal. _________________ Dennis

I agree, I passed by on Tuesday and all the electrics are there. I wont be posting removal notices any more on this one. |
