In need of help ** Jornada & Haicom CF ** Thank you

Please could somebody help me. I have had for a while a Jornada 540 series 545model PDA I beleive is SH3????. I have purchased a CF GPS haicom HI-302E which i beleive to be compatible. I plan on running pocket street 2002 or 2004 but I have not installed 2004 yet.

I have running on my laptop autoroute 2002 and my GPS works fine, but I cannot get my PDA to do anything at all. Its as if its not plugged into the PDA. I have run test programs and nothing seems to happen. Could anybody offer any assistance please.

If there are extra file needed and you no where to get them, please could you post a link.

THe Haicom CF receivers normally do not need special drivers. They expose a new COM port to your Jornada (normally it is COM4, but sometimes it can also be COM1)

Make sure Infrared is disabled and no other program is occupying COM 1. Then use a GPS program that is compiled for the SH3 processor and see if you can configure the GPS for the COM port

Thank you for your time and expertise in replying, but Im still stuck. In my laptop the GPS flashes as soon as its put in searching for sats even though its not in use. In the jornada nothing is happening.

I have Haicoms test program and still nothing.

Im only used to using pcs and not the PDA and cannot see how to disable infrared but if i aim it at the laptop it does not see the pda via infrared unless I activate the sync. Therefore I assume it is diabled or is it just not in use. I can see com4 in the test program and com 1 but still nothing.
