Hi zoot2000pointer,

Warning: As a moderator of PGPSW I am biased towards our database! Wink Wink

In all seriousness, I've recently purchased a Tom Tom 730T myself. Apart from the usual first things (e.g. full backup via windows not Home, adding my own POIs) I did try the TomTom database that the 730T came with.

I found that the TomTom camera database was inaccurate (wrong speed limits for cameras, Red light camera incorrectly labelled as Gatsos, etc). The second thing that I did was to remove the TomTom database and just use the PocketGPSWorld camera database.

Regards,

As I see you're already a subscriber to our service (great choice!) then the answer is it matters not which 'version' you choose (so long as it's the correct TomTom OV2 type of course!). The spoken warnings are a separate download and we have many choices for each database type.

I'd suggest you start with the Consolidated by type version of the database which offers the best detail with the least set-up.

Then swing over to the voices download page here and choose one of the real voice downloads such as Liz Whitaker (my favourite) making sure you choose the type that matches your download, i.e. Consolidated.

If you have any Q's though, please don't hesitate to ask, it can be confusing initially but you'll soon get to grips with it all.

it also boils down to choice I personally use the consolidated version as i found the complete set way to big as 99% of the time i know the speed limit anyhow and with the limited amount of poi's means less poi's of other importance but as darren says try it out first and see how you like it

I'm surprised no-one mentioned the "Why choose the PGPSW Database" Topic.... Smile
