Has anyone ever changed the battery in a Mio c510 and if you have is it easy or do you have to send it back to Mio.

To get the case apart without marking it is difficult.
It is easier to send it to Mio.
The battery warranty has been extended to 2 years now

It's actually very easy to take apart. Just four screws and the back lifts off. The battery is just inside. No need to damage it at all.
Of course, if you can get a replacement under warranty then that's the way to go.

I just took mine apart and put it back together again in the time it took a cup of coffee to cool to drinking temperature.
You have to take the bottom panel off first, two screws. Then the back with four screws after removing the little rubber bungs.
The battery has a short flying lead with a plug, so no soldering required. I've not changed mine so can't advise on cost.
