Had email from tomtom yesterday offering quartely map upgrades promising new updates every quarter at £7.99 I think, (deleted before digested), I am registered with tomtom as a V6 pda user, does this mean i will get new maps since quarter 1 2007 or do i just pay tomtom £7,99 each quarter for a useless email, or do i report them to ASA for false advertising. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8

Hi AJ,
I think you already know the answer to this; the newsletters don't attempt to differentiate between customers and the products they own; you're getting the same newsletter as the many more PND owners than us TomTom software owners, who also (sometimes!) receive it.
I'd love you to successfully see them prosecuted, but I don't think you'll stand a chance. Not on the basis of the email, anyway, which states 'Wish you always had the latest map for your TomTom device?...' There in lies the rub, no Navigator owner owns a TomTom device (by which they'll prove they mean a PND). We own devices from other manufacturers (keep this in mind when going for a Nav-enabled HTC, everyone!). We just own software, to which they don't refer in their email.
Case dismissed. _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek!
