Hi guys and Girls

I got my first sat nav the other day and i love it. I have a few newbi Questions thou. Well infact just one: how do you get an audio sigal when you are approaching speed cam's and aslo if you can do this how do you change it to a voice that says "speedcam ahead" or something simlar. I have downloaded the voice packs from this site but i cannot install them. At present i am only getting a visual warning on the stat nav.

thanks for your help

Hi Craig, What speedcam database are you using? Use the one from this site it is soooo much better.
What you need to do is go to the show poi on map icon and make sure all the cameras are ticked then go to manage poi's. Tap the icon and you shouls see another icon "warn when near poi" Tap this one and you will see a default distance which you can change to suit yourselfhit ok then you can choose an audible warning, There is an option for record warning depending on what model you have. On some of the older software and map combinations you had a dialogue box that asked if you wanted a brief spoken or full spoken warning. Dependent on what device you have this should get you some sort of audible warning. I am not familiar with the xl but as said this should get you there.

Only a certain US spec One XL known as the One XLS has the Text To Speech which can be used to read out speed camera warnings.

All the other devices can use the ogg files which you can download from this site to produce spoken alerts. Can you make sure that the speed camera file names match exactly the ogg audio warning files, you will need to be using the Speed Camera Database from this site for it to work - Mike
