Problem With TMC Unit?

Hi peeps, on the scrounge for info again! On my TMC unit the cable has come adrift from the last small black cylindrical block! I can push it back in, but it's not making good contack as i am having reception problems! What i need info on is

1. Is the cylindrical bit just a connection block?

2. If so can it be cut into to resolder the cable?

3. Or am i better off removing it, and just join the two bits of cable another way?

4. Does the cable need to be certain lenth? as without the last bit reception is alot worse!

Cant send cable back as reciept is so faded you cant read it! Convienient for staples!!!

Just cut the cable and solder the wire to the inner conductor the outer screen shouldn't need termination. The length of the aerial is important as this is all part of the tuned circuit which increases the reception strength but the odd few MM missing won't really matter too much - Mike
