Hi,
I'm a very very new user of the Garmin nuvi 255T and I travelled to a place perfectly first time with all directions great.
I pressed 'home' to go back and I got
'not enough memory to plan route'.
Since then, it's the same for any journey I ask for.
Speed camera function works fine.
Please help a bewildered novice...... |

Couple of things to try...
Firstly - silly question but... You have set your home location to be your home? I ask because the only time I've seen this with my nuvi is when I ask it to route to somewhere on the base map that isn't accessible by a road. However it has always recovered after a power off.
Secondly - If you can connect it to a PC and get at the files then take a backup of the unit (specifically CURRENT.GPX which holds your favourites).
Either way you will need to reset the unit (see instruction manual on how to do it for your unit - or perhaps someone with a similar unit can tell us). On my 660 its hold the top RHS of the screen whilst turning it on - but it can vary. _________________ Phil |

holding the bottom right of a nuvi 200 when switching on will ask if you want to 'clear all user data'
just try each corner until you get that message!!

Thanks guys!! will try this later today.
does this mean I have to continually reset the nuvi?
or does it need clearing down after each trip?
yes, i did have my home address in, but your advice is very very welcome.
Thanks again, guys!! |

No you shouldn't have to keep resetting/clearing - if you do, there IS something wrong.
Another silly question - did you complete your original route (ie "you have arrived at your destination")? If not it might be possible the original destination was still in there, which might confuse matters (unless the new destination clears any old one).
A separate point that I have seen elsewhere - do you have your actual home address as 'Home'? If you do, you are at risk if someone nicks your satnav while you are away, eg on holiday. (my 'Home' is a point in the local area which does not tie up with any particular house - once I'm in my home town, I can navigate the last bit on my own ) _________________ David
