I bought my GO720 almost 1 month ago and haven't used my LMG yet. My 30 days is up this saturday. My maps are 710 and there is a version 720 available but I was trying to wait for the version 8 but since TT extended the map sale it doesn't look like they will be released before my 30 days are up.
Do you think I should just wait till friday and take the free version 720 map or just keep my version 710? Is there any difference between 710 and 720? |

The map discount has been extended from 31 July, but nobody yet knows when the summer sale will come to an end.
It is therefore unlikely that new maps will be released before your LMG expires.
This is obviously a gamble and the decision has to be yours. _________________ Andy

No reason NOT to get the 720. There will certainly be improvements.
If you keep a backup, you can even put it back on and check them side by side. |

That is a pretty hard question to answer in general considering the large amount of data, but if you ask about specific locations that you know have been changed, someone in the forum will most certainly help you checking them on the 720 map. _________________ TomTom GO720T: App ver 8.351(9982/090518), OS:315187, GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5120

Don't forget that version 720 is 2 upgrades from 710 because there has been a version 715 in between.
One thing with the 720 is that Guernsey has been added, but anyone coming here should be aware that it's a basic map of the roads, although I have been submitting a lot of Mapshare updates.
Also if you're using Navcore 7 it will tell you to drive on the right and the roundabout instructions will be wrong. Thart has been corrected in Version 8. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Have you checked that LMG is offering you v720 (by going as far as seeing what map is offered, but not downloading)?
BECAUSE if my theory is correct, you will be offered v715, NOT v720. This happened to me.
To get v720 will require you to jump through hoops and provide them with copies of all your documentation to prove ownership and date of purchase. If you leave it to the last day, you may trip up. If you start the process on Friday, you won't even get a reply until next week. _________________ Dennis

It would appear that the v8.010 software update has now been withdrawn (see here), so it would seem even less likely that new maps will be released before your LMG expires at the end of this week. _________________ Andy
