voice warnings for speed cameras on Garmin nuvi 660 fm

Hi, I've just installed Ash 10's speed camera voice warnings on my nuvi 660 fm. they work fine until i start to play my mp3 collection,what happens then is that when there should be a voice warning, the mp3 file that is playing stops and the next one starts playing. Is there any fix please.

Please keep badgering GARMIN. I have the same problem and they claim I'm the only person reporting it.

It's not a major issue to me as I have my iPod connected to the radio - so getting ~70Gbytes of music etc.

One solution is to use .WAV files as the voice announcements. I think the latest version of POILoader supports them (again). Previously there was a Beta version that did the support. You do end up wih a much larger .gpi file however.

I also reported this to garmin some months ago and they told me to download an old firmware to cure the problem. Always thought firmware updates were supposed to fix previous bugs not introduce new ones that the never get around to fixing.

It sounds as if we (6xx users) may not get a fix - we are probably considered 'old technology' users by now!

madhatter did they suggest a previous version to go to? Also where to get it from? It may be of use to people who really want to use the features.
