Hi,

I have a TomTom One v4 (30-Series) and I have downloaded the zoned safety camera database.

I have also downloaded the "Liz" voice files. So, for each type of camera I have 3 files, ie

pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ogg

I have the version 8 'bug' and so have followed the advice for selecting sound files (ignoring the fact that I get no options and just saying yes).

Is there any way I can check that it is working? I have done a demo route that showed the cameras, but there was no voice.

Thanks

Then I'm afraid it's not working.

From what you've said, it's not immediately obvious why.
If you have followed the instructions to the letter, then the only little thing I can think of at the moment is that the liz files you are using don't have files for the "pMobile" camera locations, so just make sure you do your demo past, say, a Gatso:30.

If you can't work out what's gone wrong, the alternative method is described in my post HERE

In my opinion, this is a better method as it
a. is how TomTom want us to do it
b. allows you to preview the alert when you choose it
c. follows the more normal pattern of operation (no "bugs"!)

The only disadvantage is that the PGPSW naming system means that the default filenames are so long that all you see on screen when you come to select them is "PocketGPSWo....." over and over again.

Either live with it (you can preview it and hear what one it is and work out the order they are in on the page) or simply rename them to a more reasonable length first.

What speed did you run the demo at? If it's too fast you don't get the spoken alerts. I usually stick to 200%, although I believe it's OK up to 300%.

500% !!!

Thanks Andy and Anita, that's sorted it. The demo's now working and I got a "real world" alert too.

Thanks again for your speedy replies.

I think Anita should get the thanks!
If it wasn't for her jumping in, we'd have been half way into a monster technical question and answer session by now... Shocked

That's OK, Andy. I'll carry on making the easy suggestions and leave the difficult technical ones to you! Laughing

Mmm - I shall have to remember to watch what I say on this forum. Some people have the memory of an elephant, and drag it up to haunt you months, if not years, later! Laughing
