Where are the settings for 'warn when near POI' held?
I'm hoping I can cut-n-past them from an old map to a new one to prevent having to go through all the set-up again... |

It's the .cfg File in the Map Folder.
A lot depends on which Version of the Map you were, and will be, using.
Up to V5xx maps the file was named after the Map Folder it related to. Since V6xx it has been called MapSettings.cfg. IIRC you can just rename the File for it to work.
It also holds other info like Favourites, Recent Destinations, etc. _________________ Richard

Tried editing the file in notepad, but it's obviously not a simple txt file.
Anyone been able to edit this file? |

Copy the file to your PC then use POIEdit to open/ edit the file, you can download POIEdit by clicking Here
But if you only want to alter the distances the warnings occur at simply go to change preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and select each category in turn ammending the warning distance as you progress through the files, a full speed zoned setup shouldn't take anymore than 15 minutes, you can do this in under 5 with practice - Mike |
