I downloaded and installed the upgrade to 3.01 on the TT site last night, and today, TT has been unusable!
It has been freezing at various points (which it never did before the upgrade). Basically what happens is the GPS location will not update as I move - I stop hearing commands, and when I look at the PPC, I can see it still has me (stationary) on a road I moved off of a few seconds ago. The only way to cure is to exit the application and restart. Not really practical when driving!
This was occuring after every 10 minutes of use.
I have uninstalled TT3 completely and re-installed from the disk. I shall see how it fares tomorrow.
Has anyone else had this problem? It appears I was having the very problems the upgrade was intended to fix.
One thing, after I installed the update, the PPC said 'run setup again - click ok'. I assumed it meant restart the PPC. Could this have meant run the update a second time?
Thanks in advance,
Chris. |

Yup, I had exactly the same problem (see my posting in this forum marked "TT3 Update problems") - someone else kindly told me that they had the same problem but fixed it by reinstalling - I did it differently, I uninstalled TomTom and then reinstalled it and NOT the update and everything works fine again - perhaps TomTom might want to take a look at this?
Let me know if it works for you reinstalling
Cheers

Heh. Great minds?
I am hoping this will be the solution because I was so impressed with TT3, that finding it freezing after the upgrade brought me down to earth with a bang.
Will be road testing it tomorrow. |
