Hi can anyone help. I have a tomtom 720 just been on a journey today, working on the internal battery it only lasted a couple of hours, bluetooth was disabled, screen at 40% set, volume on 60. This unit has already been back to tomtom for a replacement battery. Any views would be helpfull.

Quite frankly, if you are daft enough to try using it not plugged into the car ciggy lighter power source, you need to arrange to go on trips which can be accomplished within the meagre battery life you achieved - i.e. turn round and go home after one hour away.
I have NEVER used any of mine on battery, except on occasions when I wanted to program a route inside the house immediately before going outside and plugging it into my ciggy lighter socket. These devices are intended to be run under external power - that's why you get a cable suited for the purpose. I showed you a suitable power source in your other thread on the subject of external batteries. Please don't continue this theme either here or in another thread. _________________ Dennis

Hi tomtomboy
The only time I use mine on battery is if I happen to be walking in London (or other large city) and looking for a certain address. In the car I always use the cigarette lighter for power except on a very short journey. I would class two hours a long journy. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Mine will last about 2 hours tops. That's with approximately the settings you stated you had set. I think that's about normal. |
