|
|
I did the update application on my 520 last night to version 8.010.
This update seems to have changed the on screen compass. It is now smaller with no availability to change preferences.
The compass also points east when I know I am heading west & vice-versa.
Does anyone know if the compass preferences are now hidden somewhere?
I use the compass quite a lot when I am cutting across country in rural Norfolk & Suffolk, just to make sure that I am heading in the right general direction. I know that you can show direction in the staus bar, but this is shown in degrees and I have to rack my brain back to my training in the Navy 35 years ago to do the conversion to the cardinal points. |

It has been discussed at great length in the Navcore 8 for older devices thread.
Basically, it's now much smaller and can only point north (you are describing it as pointing in the direction of travel which it isn't doing). _________________ Gerry

Thanks for that.
Why, I wonder do TomTom keep taking away useful functions? |

Send TT support a message complaining about the compass. Perhaps TT will take it on board when it updates the software again _________________ TT Go Essential |
