Hi
I've just got hold of a new TomTom Go 930 and I'm very impressed with it. However, I can't seem to work out how to get the music player to see the mp3 files stored on the SD card. The only way seems to be to copy them into the mp3 folder of the internal drive.
Obviously this will fill up the internal memory very quickly - I've scoured the manual and it doesn't mention anything about using the card for music storage.
Anyone any ideas?
thanks

You can put music on an SD card, create a folder called "mp3" (without the "" and it must be lower case) - this folder should reside in the root of the memory card, put your mp3 tracks into the mp3 folder and away you go.
I use an 8GB SDHC card in my 720/ 930 and it works very well for music storage, note the plastic lump that is fitted to the device in the SD card slot on a new device is just a filler - it is not a memory card - you probably knew that but you wouldn't be the first to try writing files to it - Mike |

Yes just copy the music files to a mp3 directory in a SDHC card.
My 16Gb SDHC card has about 6Gb of 2000 songs with another 6Gb of photos. All operable by TomTom. |

Hi ianrm
I have a 720 and the instruction manual is about the same as yours, next to useless. It gives basic instructions on how to navigate and that’s about it.
For instance we will take Music and media/Pictures. The manual will tell how to view them, how to delete them and how to change the volume etc. and any one(even a complete novice) will manage it. But how to get the pictures onto the SD card so that the device can view them there is no mention. Same with the music.
The man who compiled the manual must have been in a hurry. Perhaps his dinner was getting cold. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
