|
|
I travel a lot, globally.
I want my GPS to take me to the closest unencrypted, open, free WiFi wireless spot... so I can make a phone call.
Now, how would you get TomTom to take you to the closest spot?
POI investigations:
- fon
- mcDonalds (asked me to pay in Denmark -no good)
- any other POI databases? |

There are very few open free WiFi services. FON isn't free unless you're a FON member. Using an unprotected WiFi link that has been left open unintentionally is an offence n many countries.
So the simple answer is there won't be a POI file.
If you need such a service you'll have to pay for it, such as BT Openzone or The Cloud etc who all have reciprocal arrangements with overseas partners. _________________ Darren Griffin |

And that POI file is for WiFi services provided by BTOpenzone, TheCloud, T-Mobile etc. It's also very old.
We have an up to date version on our dynamic POI page. These are not free hotspots. _________________ Darren Griffin |
