Is it possible to check the new additions and coverage of the new TT3 maps before upgrading?
Is there a site we can browse new map data?
I say this as it would be nice to see if local new roads are included before we upgrade.
Best regards David |

You could take a look at map24. they use Tele Atlas for map data although it says (c)2004 I dont know how up-to-date their data is!
The award-winning Map24 portal has now been enhanced considerably. From today there is a completely revised and amended beta version available to all users. We invite you to go and explore the extended European map and start your personal search in one of the numerous point-of-interest categories!
http://www.uk.map24.com/? just click on 'next' to see the maps. |

People were asking about coverage for Ireland, well Ireland is pretty well covered so it looks like Tele Atlas have done the business.
I guess it's just a matter of 'time' before the map data is made available in the next map releases by TomTom and Navman. |

Great thought icsys but map24 have a problem of their own though -- the routing system appears to use different map data to that which actually gets displayed!!
Try routing from "Hook Road, Epsom, KT19" to "Danetree Road, Epsom, KT19". The textual instructions and route shown in blue are correct but the map displayed is missing half the roads used!! (The new roundabout system it lacks is probably four years old.)
Mappy.com appears more up-to-date. Could anyone check this roundabout in TTN3?

Like many I'm disappointed with TTN2's maps and hope TTN3 fixes this.

Looks like the maps for TTN3 are going to be at least 3 years out of date for my local roads. So all those people that want the M6 toll road are going to have a long wait.
This is very dissapointing if the Mappy.com Tele Atlas maps are the same as in TTN3 |

The viaMichelin maps appear to have data from only the first half of 2003, so roads like the Great Glen bypass on the A6 is included (opened Feb 2003), but the Desborough section of the same road inprovement (opened August 2003) is not.
